Mask Project Update

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who was involved in my mask project. I know a lot of you are still owed designs, they are coming real soon I promise (I have a major uni deadline on May 18th, after that I can finally return to dA)

They were also turned into a set of playing cards, photos of some of these can be found here: [link] and were also published in a book. If you're interested you can see visuals from the project here: [link]

All your efforts went into a project that celebrates self identity, with a particular relation towards autism and asperger's syndrome. I was looking into how autistic children understand facial expressions and emotions, and that lead me to realise that we often judge people by their appearance and first impressions, when that is not their true face at all. That's where I got the idea for the masks from.

Everything I have learnt from this project will go towards creating a series of books and designs for Riding for the Disabled Association; introducing autistic children to RDA and hopefully inspiring them about the benefits of horse riding.

The masks will be on display at the end of year exhibition (I will post photos) and possibly at the D&AD New Blood exhibition.

I cannot thank you enough, the masks are all really important to me, and the response I received was amazing.
